Week 6 Assembly - PA Leaders

Instrumental and Speech and Drama Exams

There have been many students across the Junior School working particularly hard preparing for instrumental and drama exams over the last few weeks. We have had some outstanding exam results across our piano, brass, woodwind and string players as well as in speech and drama. 

Congratulations to all the students who have dedicated practice time to completing these to such a high standard. We also thank the tutors and accompanist for their hard work in supporting these students. 

Eisteddfod Win

Junior Band took part in the Schools Band Day at the Orange Eisteddfod on Wednesday, 26 August and they were delighted to come away with1st place. The adjudicator commended them on their excellent dynamics, ensemble work and all-round polished performance. Thank you to Mr Ryan and Mrs Lenton for their wonderful work with this group. 

String Quartet

On Thursday, 27 August the Junior String Quartet involving Madeleine, Mezen, Eddie and Nick competed in the Primary Schools Age String Ensemble section of the Orange Eisteddfod, winning 1st place. The four players were complimented on their fabulous use of dynamics and exceptional ability to listen and play together.

Solo Winner

Congratulations to Nate B who entered his first Orange Eisteddfod this year and came away with the following achievements;

• Under 10s own solo - highly commended
• Under 10s jazz/pop solo - 1st place
• Under 12s Scholarship Solo event - 1st place, winning a $500 scholarship for music tuition and trophy.

Dance Showcase

On Friday, 28 August, we celebrated the School's Dance Program with our annual Dance Showcase. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent, creativity and hard work of all our dance groups. Each group performed beautifully before we celebrated our dancers with some awards and farewelled our senior dancers and wonderful student helpers. A wonderful celebration of dance at Kinross Wolaroi!
