Prep

It’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of Term 3! It has been a busy term, jam-packed full of fun events and exciting visitors for the Prep students.

Throughout Oatlands Book Week, the Prep students participated in so many fun activities! We explored the children’s story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, voted for our favourite books in a very exciting ‘Battle of the Books’ and set off on a Book Trail where we read all about Liru, the frill neck lizard. The Prep students also attended an incursion from Perform Education where we were treated to an interactive performance that featured a selection of the CBCA short listed books. At the end of Book Week, we got to dress up as caterpillars and showcased our work, we all looked so cute!

To celebrate Father’s Day, we welcomed the Prep Dads and special visitors into our classroom after their presentation from Mark (Squiz) Squirrell. Our dads helped with some fun activities in the classroom such as making superhero puppets and bookmarks, drawing portraits of each other and reading books together.

We also had our first Grandparents Day. Our special visitors were so generous with their time and loved sharing their stories, experience and knowledge with us. It was a lovely way to honour the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren.

And if all of that wasn’t enough, we also had a blast showing off our best dance moves at the school disco! The laser lights and glow sticks were a crowd pleaser.

To wrap up the term we are heading off for our very first excursion next week. We are all looking forward to experiencing TWISTED Science, which is sure to ignite our curiosity and creativity through STEM powered fun!
