Wakakirri
WOW, what a performance and what a result.......
Congratualtions to the 117 students from Level 5 & 6 that put on an amazing performance last Monday at the Wakakirri Awards Night. They were simply stunning and blew the audience away with their energy, their perfect dancing and an important story.
And to then be the winning school to be nominated for a National Award - brilliant.
It was wonderful to watch the skills, the confidence and the resilience of the whole cast in all the practice and the performances - this is why we run programs such as this.
Huge thanks to all the teachers and parents that supported the event, but in particular the two 'divas' - Miss Ward and Mrs Wyllie. There are the force behind Waki and they are brilliant at what they do - congratulations.
Level 6 Leadership Event
Every year we encourage the Level 6 Leadership Team to embrace a cause and take on the challenge of running a whole school event.
This year the Level 6's have engaged with Dolly's Dream, an organisation that aims to "stand together in honour of Dolly's dream of a world free from bullying".
So please get behind the Level 6 Leadership Team with their activities, which includes a community 'Movie under the Stars' Night on Thursday 9 October and the whole school 'Do it for Dolly' Day on Friday 10 October where we will turn everything blue with a range of different activities at school, all run by the Level 6 students.
Safe Travel to & from School
The Education Department has released a new program called 'The Safe Migration Project', designed to give parents practical tips to help their children travel safely to and from school. This includes videos, fact sheets, conversation starters and posters.
If you are interested please click on the attached QR code for access to the materials.
This is a great safety initiative, coupled with resources for school, that helps keep our children safe.
Important Reminders / notes:
Student Toilets: The outside student toilets (main building & Junior Building) are STRICTLY for children/students. Can I please ask any adult in the school to not use these toilets. This is a child safe regulation.
Adults wishing to use a toilet are asked to come inside and use the unisex staff/adult toilets in the foyer by the Artroom door.

R U OK?
Yesterday, our staff came together to mark R U OK? Day with a morning tea that celebrated connection and conversation.
A highlight of the morning was the batch of specially made R U OK? cookies, lovingly baked by Amelia Friebel. Decorated in yellow icing with R U OK? printed on them, these treats weren’t just delicious—they were a beautiful reminder of the importance of looking out for one another.
Moments like these remind us that support doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with a cup of tea, a shared smile, and a cookie that says, “I care.”
Let’s keep the conversation going—not just today, but every day. Please use the link below for constructive ways to have this important conversation A conversation could change a life | R U OK?
Parent Teacher Interviews
A reminder we are holding Parent Teacher interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon/evenings next week. Please book a time to meet with your child's teacher on the SENTRAL parent portal.
Have a wonderful weekend!
