Level 3 – Colours and Fruit

Level 3 students have continued learning the topic of colours while also learning the names of different fruits in Chinese. Using the interactive whiteboard, they matched colour and fruit vocabulary in both Chinese and English to strengthen their understanding.

A highlight has been singing and dancing to the lively Chinese song “I Love Juice”, which reinforced new vocabulary in a fun and energetic way.

Level 4 – Sports

Level 4 students have continued learning the topic of sports in Chinese.

As part of their learning, they drew their favourite sports and used the sentence “wǒ xǐ huān... 我喜欢...” (I like...) to share their personal preferences. They also conducted a class survey by asking and responding to the question “nǐ xǐ huān shén me yùn dòng?你喜欢什么运动?” (What sport do you like?).

These creative activities gave students the chance to practise new language while connecting it to their own interests.

Level 5 - Community

Level 5 students have continued learning the topic My Community in Chinese.

They have been practising everyday conversations by asking “nǐ qù nǎ lǐ? 你去哪里?” (Where do you go?) and answering with “wǒ qù… 我去…” (I go to…). Students have also been building sentences such as “xīng qī yī wǒ qù gōng yuán. 星期一我去公园。”(On Monday, I go to the park.), which has helped them gain confidence using Chinese in real-life contexts.

Level 6 – Food and Dining out

Level 6 students have been expanding their knowledge of food and drinks in Chinese.

One of our activities involved giving descriptive clues about different foods and drinks, while classmates guessed the answer. This fun game helped us practise and remember the vocabulary. We also learned about Chinese dining etiquette and had the chance to practise using chopsticks through different challenges.

A highlight was the chopstick dice-stacking challenge, our record for this year is an impressive 11 dice!
