Contemporary SpringART 2025: A Celebration of Creativity and Community
The 42nd Contemporary SpringART exhibition was a shining reminder of what makes Loreto College Marryatville so strong: the power of community, the importance of tradition, and the courage to celebrate creativity.
For more than four decades, SpringART has been far more than an exhibition. It has united parents, Old Scholars, staff, artists, and friends of the College in a shared expression of imagination and culture. This year was no exception. As Picasso observed, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Our exhibition inspired and uplifted, sparking conversation and connection across generations.
SpringART is made possible through the generosity of many people. We acknowledge our Presenting Partner, Charles Booth of Booth Real Estate, whose family has supported the exhibition since its beginnings, along with our Gold Partner, MPH Architects, Beverage Partners, Sidewood Estate, and the many in-kind sponsors and donors who make this event flourish.
At its creative core, the exhibition was led by Curator and Artist Marisha Matthews, together with Feature Artist Quentin Gore and Emerging Artist Tess Bartholomew. Their work challenged us to see the world with fresh eyes, reminding us that creativity requires both courage and generosity.
Equally vital were the nearly 100 volunteers who gave their time and energy - painting walls, hanging artworks, and hosting the Father’s Day BBQ. Their service brought to life the values of joy, collaboration, and community at the heart of Loreto. We particularly thank our Parents & Friends Committee and the tireless Contemporary SpringART Committee - David Fleer, Colleen Bibbo, and Meneka Mendis for their leadership.
Every artwork purchased supports both the exhibiting artists and the College's Artist in Residence program, ensuring creativity continues to inspire the next generation of Loreto students. In this way, Contemporary SpringART enriches both our college and the cultural life of South Australia.
Above all, we extend heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the 42nd Contemporary SpringART. This event is, at its heart, a celebration of community - parents, Old Scholars, staff, and friends united by creativity, generosity, and shared purpose. It is a reminder of the enduring strength of Loreto College Marryatville, one that will continue to flourish for generations to come.
