Prep

Welcome to Term 4!It’s incredible to realise that we are already heading into the final term of the 2025 school year. This term, we will consolidate the learning that has taken place throughout the year.
At the end of Term 3, the Preps participated in the Learning Showcase. This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to develop their listening and speaking skills while building confidence when communicating with others. They also had the chance to share the special artefacts in their Identity Boxes.
Scienceworks
On Tuesday morning, the Preps excitedly boarded the bus to Scienceworks. Our first stop was Tinkertown, where the students explored and interacted with a range of hands-on exhibits. They were encouraged to create ramps, tessellate shapes, and build using different materials. It was wonderful to see them working together and collaborating to construct houses, robots, a water park, and even gym equipment.
After Tinkertown, we headed to the Planetarium to watch the short film Tycho Goes to Mars. In the film, Tycho embarks on an adventure to learn about the major features of Mars, including the ancient volcano Olympus Mons and the vast canyons of Valles Marineris.
He also searches for water to refuel his steam-powered space kennel back home. After the film, the students enjoyed a guided tour of the Melbourne night sky, where they discovered the constellations and planets visible after dark.
If your child is interested in the night sky and space, I highly recommend visiting the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society website. They host public night-sky viewing events where visitors can observe planets and stars through telescopes and other viewing equipment. https://www.mpas.asn.au/
Andrew Chinn concert
We are thrilled to be welcoming Andrew Chinn to our school next Tuesday, 14 October. In the morning, the Preps will take part in a fun and engaging music workshop. In the afternoon, families are invited to the whole-school concert, which will begin at 2:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!
