Western Heights College is proud to celebrate Isaiah Nanat's recent participation in the NBTC Tournament in Manila, where he had the opportunity to compete at an international level against strong basketball talent from across the region.
Isaiah’s team competed hard across four challenging games and secured an important win during the tournament. While the team did not progress to the championship rounds, the experience of playing against high-quality international opposition was incredibly valuable and provided important learning opportunities both on and off the court.
During his two-week stay in Manila, Isaiah also competed in two additional tournaments, highlighting his commitment and passion for the game. A major highlight of the trip was being part of the team that won the Global Hoops All Star Under 16 Tournament, a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Isaiah and his teammates.
This international experience has been an outstanding opportunity for Isaiah’s development, giving him exposure to elite competition, different playing styles, and the demands of competing on the global stage. Western Heights College is extremely proud of Isaiah’s efforts, dedication, and achievements, and we look forward to seeing his continued growth in the Specialist Basketball Program.

As the term comes to a close, the soccer program is only getting started.
Our Senior boys have cemented a place in the Victorian Schools Premiere League Final. The final is scheduled for this Thursday, and it will be played against Maribyrnong College at the home of the Matildas.
To get to the final the boys needed to overcome Rowville College. In a heated game which saw 2 Red Cards, our boys were able to keep their heads high and kept playing the ball over the player to win the game 5-2. Coach Joey described the game as one of the best and most mature performances he has seen in school soccer.
It’s an exciting time for all of our Victorian representatives as the National Championships are to be held over the Easter break. Western Heights College will be heavily represented with 15 players across the Girls and Boys U/15 and U/16 competition. It’s a tremendous achievement from one school to be so heavily represented and full credit must be given to those individuals who push themselves and stay dedicated to their craft on a daily basis.
We wish all the players the very best of luck over the next weeks and hope to share news of a Victorian Premiere League title and perhaps an Australian U/15 or U/16 Winner in the next article.

Every child, regardless of their postcode is expected to travel with their class to and from practice venues, as a part of our Duty of Care. Students are not to arrive late or leave early from venues. In 2026, there will be no permanent ‘late’ arrivals or ‘early’ departures issued. It is expected that choosing WHC and the SSP, means you are committed to our 9am-3pm school hours – every day of the week.
If, your child is required to leave early or arrive late (on the odd occasion), due to an appointment, please contact Anthe Petrovics our Attendance Officer via email to arrange this, so that it is visible on compass (for all staff). This is not to be arranged via Sport Coaches or Teachers.
