Victoria Casonato
I started working at Banyan Fields Primary School last year in August, part-time in Grade 4. Before that I lived and worked in the Northern Territory for 4 and a half years in a Remote Indigenous Community called Lajamanu.
Outside of school, I like going to the beach, spending time with my friends and family, gardening, cooking and making crafty things.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all this year!

Mitch Lehner
I joined the teaching profession because I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children. I enjoy seeing them grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Outside of school, I try to attend as many Western Bulldogs games as I can. If I’m not at a Bulldogs game I am very likely watching an American sport such as American Football, Ice Hockey, or Baseball where I follow the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Cubs, respectively.
I am looking forward to meeting all the students at Banyan Fields and getting to know them and their families.

I have a deep interest in the wellbeing of students and drawing on each students interests and strengths to ensure they achieve success in everything they do. Outside of school I am a mum to two boys and enjoy walking my dogs, going to the rugby, travelling and reading. I love insects and have a pet scorpion, crickets, zebra millipedes, springtails and have some isopods on the way.

Outside of school, I enjoy going for walks with my blue healer, Bobbie. I love spending time with my family and friends, listening to music and eating yummy food. I have a younger brother and grew up playing netball, basketball and even got my black belt in Karate.
James Wierzbinski
Hi everyone, I am a returning teacher to BFPS - I was last at the school around 9 years ago. For 2024 I am the PE teacher, so I am looking forward to working with all our wonderful students across all year levels and helping them build up their skills across a range of different sports and games. 2024 will be an exciting one for my partner and I, as we are expecting our first baby in mid-April (a little boy) - so this will keep me on my toes! My interests include soccer and am always looking to go travelling both locally and overseas (however this will need to be placed on hold until the baby is old enough to travel). Thank you to the school community for welcoming me back to BFPS and I cannot wait to get to know you all in 2024 🙂Mr Wierzbinski
