Junior School District Athletics
Michelle Ryan, Physical Education Teacher
The Junior School District Athletics took place on Wednesday 28 August, with 67 students from Years 3 to 6 proudly representing Kilvington at the Duncan Mackinnon Athletics track.
Congratulations to the following students who have advanced to the Beachside Athletics Division, scheduled for 15 October:
- William Turner - 1st Discus, 9-10YO
- Mia Nation - 2nd 1500m, 11YO
- Greta Bryan - 2nd 100m, 11YO
- Jacob McGloughlin - 1st 200m, 12-13YO
Jacob also came 2nd in the Open 100m Champion race and 3rd in the 100m. In addition, Victoria Ransom achieved 3rd place in Discus (9-10YO).
We are incredibly proud of every competitor, each of whom demonstrated true determination and effort in their events.
A big thank you to our dedicated staff for their commitment to weekly training sessions and their support on the day of the event.
Senior Sport Grand Finals

We are thrilled to announce the fantastic results from our Senior Sport Grand Final Day! Our teams have shown incredible skill, determination and sportsmanship, making us so proud. A big thanks must go to the entire senior cohort who turned up to support their fellow classmates across our six Grand Finals — you truly made a difference.
Here’s a recap of the exciting matches.
Netball:
- Boys A: In a nail-biting finish, the Boys A team edged out Knox with a score of 27-20. Their relentless effort and teamwork were key to securing this win. This is the 3rd straight year the boys have won the competition.
- Boys B: The Boys B team also emerged victorious against Huntingtower, with a close score of 34-24. Their perseverance on the court was truly commendable. Filled with Year 12s, this was a fun and skilful team to watch throughout the year.
- Girls A: The Girls A team played an outstanding match, defeating Knox 31-24. Their strategic plays and resilience were evident throughout the game. Special congratulations to Anthea Diplaris and Rianne Darvell who led the team with pride over the year.
- Girls B: Similarly, the Girls B team clinched victory over Huntingtower with a score of 26-8. Their teamwork and spirit were exemplary!
Volleyball:
- Our Volleyball girls had an exhilarating match against Knox, coming out on top with a score of 3 sets to 2. Their dynamic play and dedication were key to their success.
Badminton:
- Unfortunately, the Badminton team faced a tough challenge and lost 12-0 to Huntingtower. Despite the result, their efforts and sportsmanship did not go unnoticed.
Congratulations to all our teams and coaches for their hard work and outstanding performances! Your dedication and teamwork have made this Grand Final day one to remember. Let’s continue to support and celebrate our athletes as they strive for excellence in every game. Go Kilvington!
