NUDE FOOD AT BHPS
As part of our effort to reduce our waste and encourage our school community to think about the amount of packaging they throw out, Barwon Heads Primary School encourages Nude Food lunches. This aligns with our school Sustainability Policy.
Nude Foods are foods that contain NO packaging, and this means we have less rubbish and waste to go into landfill.
Nude Food combines both environmental awareness and nutritional health by building greater understanding of the effects that our food choices have on our bodies and the effects that rubbish/waste have on our environment.
Nude Food is a fantastic opportunity to educate children about how their actions can impact the environment and their health. Focussing on the positive message of ‘nude food = a healthy body + a healthy planet’, we want our students at BHPS to be empowered to choose healthy, rubbish free food for their lunches and snacks.
Thank you to our families for supporting this school policy.
Photography And Filming Consent
During the school year there are many occasions and events where staff may photograph, film or record students participating in school activities and events. We do this for many reasons including to celebrate student participation and achievement, showcase particular learning programs, document a student’s learning journey, camps, excursions, sports events etc. Also to communicate with our parents and school community in newsletters and on digital platforms.
This year there will also be a few occasions where we will have a professional photographer capturing students involved in school life for us to share at parent information sessions and on our school website. Student names will not be listed with any photographs or filming. To give permission please ‘accept’ this Compass event; or decline if you don’t want your child photographed or filmed.
Working with Children Checks
All people working or volunteering at Barwon Heads Primary School require a "Working with Children check". These must be shown at the office upon entry to the School. This is a legal requirement of all schools.
