Performing Arts Newsletter
Welcome back, Everyone!
Hope you had a fantastic and safe break and are all energized and ready to join our Performing Arts class. As we resume our Performing Arts class, we'd like to share that the students have been engaged in various activities such as singing, dancing, composing, and playing instruments. It's been a productive start to the year, and we look forward to continuing the journey with your children.
Our focus this term is Music:
Junior School:
Junior students are delving into the wonderful world of music! In our junior classes, they're learning all about the beat, pitch (high and low), dynamics (loud and soft), and tempo (fast and slow) with so much excitement. They're growing more confident every day in expressing their thoughts and feelings through music, movement, percussion instruments, and singing.
In our sessions, they're having a blast moving to the beat and discovering different types of music using their voices and playing instruments. It's amazing to watch them explore and create in such a colourful and expressive way!
Middle school:
Middle School have been experimenting with music through movement, singing, and playing tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments. Students are learning how to write and read musical notes. Students are having loads of fun working in groups and creating interesting and clever tunes by using ta , ti-ti, and rests to complete their rhythm patterns.
Senior School:
The Senior students are focused on using appropriate techniques to create and perform musical pieces. This was achieved through utilising offbeat, syncopated rhythms and creating rhymes.
Students play syncopated rhythms in the song “The Poor Old Dog”.
