Introducing our 2024 Wellbeing Captains

We are the 2024 Wellbeing captains and we care about everyone. We wanted to be well-being captains because we really care about people’s feelings, and we want to make everyone feel included and happy. We also wanted to be Wellbeing captains because we care that people are ok and feel safe.

Hi, I’m Matilda but most people call me Tilly, this is about me. Some of my hobbies are soccer, drawing, singing and listening to music. Here are some of my character traits: Kindness, empathy, funny, honest, creative, and I can read people’s emotions. I have an adorable dog called Älva and I have a younger brother called Dexter.

Hi, my name is Annika but most people call me Anni, here’s a little bit about me. What I enjoy doing most in my free time is soccer, netball, swimming and latch hooking (which is like crocheting). I have a pet dog called Rocky and an older brother called Teddy. Some of my character traits are that I'm kind, caring, forgiving, honest, creative and I have empathy.

Wellbeing Wednesdays

We have started Wellbeing Wednesdays, this is when we open up the chicken coop for people to go into and on bad days do colouring inside the BER. When we do this other students come inside the chicken coop four at a time with us supervising. We let them pat them and hold them if they know how to.

Friendship Fridays

Our club Friendship Fridays is a club held on the stage on Fridays for the first half of lunch. If you don’t have anyone to play with, come to the stage and we will have lots of fun activities for you to do. There will be lots of amazing books as well. Even if you have friends to play with you can all have fun together, you can also make lots of new friends too. We might even have a special guest (Nova). Each week we will have a new theme like this week it will be Lego. We can also play games like tag, pole tiggy and duck duck goose. See you there.

Introducing our 2024 Friendship Captains

Hi I’m Cleo and I’m one of the friendship captains of 2024! I love team sports and playing with my friends at lunch and recess. And I love maths and writing.

Hello my name is Sam and I’m one of the friendship captains. I love to work with other people and help build lots of great friendships.I always stand up to bullies, and love learning.

Nova

I’d also like to introduce Nova.  She is our school dog, soon to be trained as a therapy dog.  Nova is a six year old Japanese Spitz who I adopted from a breeder. She has a lovely gentle nature and a very soft, fluffy coat.

Nova has spent time in the playground and visiting classes.  She has helped children who are feeling sad or anxious feel better and brought lots of positive emotions to everyone who comes over for a pat. It is lovely to see the big smiles on the faces of our students when they see her.

Nova is enjoying meeting everyone and the many pats she receives each day.  If you see us in the yard, come and say ‘hi’.

Our Chickens

I’d really like to thank all the wonderful families that looked after our chickens over the summer holidays.  In particular I’d like to say a huge thank you to Julie Fahy and Clare Strachan for taking care of our chickens who were unwell and required vet attention.

Rosie had Bumble foot and needed to visit the vet to have it treated.  She needed to have a general anaesthetic and came back to the coop with bandages on her feet.

I’m saddened to say that we lost Shakira (orange hen) over the summer holidays.

A huge thank you also goes out to Henry and Cora, who helped their mums take care of the chickens.  They gave up many days of their summer holidays to make sure our chickens were well looked after, including trips to the vet and to Talking Hens.  Henry diagnosed the Bumble foot, they helped bath Shakira and learnt lots about chicken health.

Our Egg Collecting roster is full until the end of term.  Watch out for the link to register for collecting our eggs at the end of term.

  • Being involved with school helps you to build strong relationships with teachers and other staff.
  • Build relationships at primary school by helping in the classroom, going on excursions, working on the canteen and more.
