Season of Lent

It was wonderful to come together as a school community last week to celebrate together the Ash Wednesday liturgy as we commenced the season of Lent. Thank you to Mrs Parker, Mrs Bellman and the Year 4 students for leading us in the liturgy. Thank you Mr Navarro, musicians and choir for sharing your talents with us too!

Sundowner Success

It was great to come together as a community at the Welcome Sundowner last Friday. A huge thank you to the P&F Committee and all the helpers leading up to the Sundowner and on the afternoon. It was a great evening enjoyed by all in attendance

Parish/School Mass

It was wonderful to see many of our families at the Family Mass in our Parish on Saturday evening at St Helena of the Holy Cross Parish Church. We keep in our prayers the students preparing for their First Eucharist who had their Enrolment Masses over the weekend.

Home/School Partnership

I would like to reiterate the importance of our home/school partnership that we continue to nurture at St Helena's Catholic Primary School. This partnership aligns with our Vision for Learning - Pillar Two: Collaboration (Community). At St Helena’s, we value the collaboration of staff, students, parents, caregivers, parish, and the wider community in supporting each individual to become the person God intended them to be. Over the next few weeks of Term 1, Classroom Teachers will be reaching out to parents and caregivers to schedule parent/teacher interviews to discuss your child's learning progress. I encourage all parents and caregivers to secure a date and time offered by the teachers to celebrate your child's achievements thus far and discuss future goals. Thank you in advance to our teachers for their efforts in preparing for these interviews, ensuring we work together with all our families for the best interests of the students in our care.

Harmony Day - Friday 21 March

Harmony Day is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At St Helena's Catholic Primary School we celebrate all our students and families and we love coming together as one community each and every day, striving to show Something Beautiful for God in all that we say and do. Have a read in our School Notices about the plan for Friday 21 March.

Physical Education Teacher

On Thursday we will be farewelling Mr Aaron Clarke from St Helena's Catholic Primary School. Aaron has done a great job as our Physical Education Teacher and planning and coordinating our sporting carnivals over the last year. Aaron is leaving St Helena's to focus on his AFL football and we wish him all the best with the Perth Demons in 2025.

We welcome Mr Mark McCormack to the Physical Education Specialist Teacher role at St Helena's next week. I am sure the students, staff and families will make Mark welcome as he joins our school community.

Kindergarten 2026

Enrolment interviews for Kindergarten in 2026 are continuing.

Families with siblings born between July 2021 and June 2022 seeking a place in our Kindergarten next year at St Helena's are asked to contact Admin on admin@sthelenas.wa.edu.au or 9297 7500 to receive an application pack.
