Pre-Primary Lorikeets and Possums

We have had an amazing start to Pre-Primary! Over the last few weeks we have made new friends, established routines and had lots of exploration and fun.

In Religious Education, we have been learning all about Lent, the children have participated in Bible stories, songs and activities that have helped us to expand our knowledge of Jesus and Ash Wednesday. We participated in our very first liturgy with the whole school and received the ashes on our foreheads.

During Literacy we have been focusing on our prewriting patterns and building our fine motor skills through lots of sensory investigations and play. The children have loved playing with the chalk, shaving foam and water play to help them with their tall man, short man and sideways – sideways to magic land.

In Maths, we have been learning the importance of making collections and touching each item as we count. The children have been working hard with expanding their knowledge of numbers into the teens and beyond. We are all doing a fantastic job beginning to write our numbers correctly and recognising numbers on a 10 frame!

Year 3 Mapgies and Numbats

Year 3 students have been learning to identify and understand their emotions by noticing how different feelings manifest physically in their bodies. It's been a fascinating exploration into the world of emotions!

In Maths, the students celebrated Shrove Tuesday by indulging in a tasty pancake lesson. They investigated fractions by splitting their pancakes into halves, quarters, and more—making Maths deliciously fun!

In HASS, the classes have been diving into the world of commemorations and celebrations. They've been researching Australia Day, delving into its history and significance, and presenting their findings to each other. It's been a wonderful way to understand and appreciate our cultural heritage.
