Feast Days of St Patrick and St Joseph

St. Patrick's Day Prayer
Feast Day 17 March
Dear Lord,
On this day, we remember St. Patrick, who brought the light of faith
to the people of Ireland.
May his example of courage, humility, and unwavering trust in You
inspire us in our daily lives.
Help us to spread love and kindness, just as St. Patrick did,
and to embrace the spirit of unity and peace.
St. Patrick, pray for us, that we may grow in faith and be guided
by God's grace in all that we do.
Amen
Born in Roman Britain around the end of the fourth century, St. Patrick is celebrated as the Patron Saint of Ireland. He died in Ireland about the middle of the fifth century, having faced significant hardship as a missionary Bishop. Despite opposition from friends and fellow Christians, he worked tirelessly to conciliate and evangelise others. St. Patrick is remembered for his simplicity, pastoral care, humble trust in God, and fearless preaching of the gospel to those who had enslaved him in his youth. His legacy is specially honoured in Australia, where many Irish settlers brought with them the faith and zeal of St. Patrick. St. Patrick's Day, celebrated on March 17th, honours his enduring impact and the rich cultural heritage of Ireland.
Prayer to St. Joseph
Feast Day 19 March
O St. Joseph,
Guardian of the Holy Family and protector of the Church, we turn to you in our need.
With your humble heart and steadfast faith, you cared for Mary and Jesus
with unwavering love.
Guide us with your wisdom and strength, and help us to trust in God's plan for our lives.
St. Joseph, pray for us, that we may live with integrity, compassion, and dedication, following your example of faithful service.
Amen
St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus Christ and the husband of the Virgin Mary, is revered for his humility, righteousness, and unwavering faith. Born in Bethlehem, he worked as a carpenter, providing for his family with dedication and love. Despite the challenges he faced, including the flight to Egypt to protect Jesus from King Herod, St. Joseph remained steadfast in his role as protector and provider. He is remembered for his silent strength, deep trust in God's plan, and his role in the Holy Family. St. Joseph's Day, celebrated on March 19th, honours his legacy as a model of fatherhood and faithful service.
