ANZAC DAY MARCH

On Friday, 25th April, we celebrate ANZAC Day. As in previous years, Catherine McAuley will once again join in the March down the main street. This is a wonderful way to show our respect for and honour all those who have gone before us and fought to make our Country the inclusive and free land that it is today.

As Anzac Day falls in the holidays we encourage all students who are in Orange on 25th April to join us as we march. Please meet outside ‘Neweys Dry Cleaners’ in Sale Street from 10:15am, the march will commence at 10:30am.

Students are to wear full Summer School Uniform (jumpers optional, if needed).  When students arrive, please see the teachers who are there to have students' names marked. Students will march down Summer St to McNamara Lane. The main processons turns left towards Robertson Park, however our students turn right at McNamara Lane, towards Aldi.

This is where we stop and wait for parents outside the ‘Blind Pig’. Students need to have their name marked off before leaving. Please collect children as soon as they finish marching and before the Ceremony begins in Robertson Park.

We look forward to another wonderful ANZAC Day celebration!

Supporting student attendance at school is a key priority. Attendance does matter. Good attendance at school is linked to academic success, we are therefore asking for all parents/carers support in ensuring that pupils achieve the highest possible attendance.

What you can do to support positive attendance:

  • Go to your child’s Compass Profile and view the Attendance % for school this year. This number should be above 90%.
  • Add all absence notes through the Compass Portal.
  • Arrive on time.

I thank all of our parents for continuing to inform the school of absences through the Compass App.

CYBER SAFETY

At a recent conference I attended one of the presenters, Susan McLean,  spoke about many online issues our children face.

She shares many helpful resources for parents on her website and is an author and guest on many podcasts.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday with your children.

We look forward to seeing all of the students back for Day 1 on Tuesday 29th April.
