Around the College

Student Leadership
During the Year 7's Fab Feb they spent some time with their Year 12 'buddies'. One of the activities involved creating their House mascots in clay. Here we have the Knox Knight, the Chisholm Lion and the McCormack Panda.

Year 8 Visual Communication Design
First time Year 8 Visual Communication Design students have been busy in and outside of the classroom experimenting with the media of greylead pencils to explore rendering techniques. They have considered the light source upon their objects and how this impacts the shadows, highlights and texture of the object. This is all part of their short folio on Observational Drawing. Students have used this greylead media to achieve positive results. Please see some of their detailed outcomes below.

Year 9 Visual Art
Botanical Drawing using mixed media is a theme that Year 9 students have been working on in their visual Art lessons. We have examined of the work of Margaret Preston who uses iconic Australian flora in her lino prints and the contemporary style of Sally Dunbar who focuses on colour, shape and pattern in her stylized compositions.
Students have completed a folio of loose sketches using pencil, charcoal and black ink wash. They are currently working towards a creative presentation using both paint and collage.
