VET
The Joseph Centre is a flurry of activity at the moment with VET well and truly in swing. On campus, VET Business, Beauty, Retail Cosmetics, Music, and Dance are well under way, with students getting to know their trainers and completing competencies.
For those off campus, the College has generously offered to drive some students to their VET to ensure the absence of classes is kept to a minimum. Check out the photo of some of our Multitade lads heading off to Chisholm.
Our VCE - Vocational Major students showed off their VET skills during Open evening. Matthew, Audrey, Tocobye, Dominic P, Dominic G, Regina and Anesti were literally on the tools demonstrating their community action and technical skills the whole evening. It was lovely see the positive response from prospective families had towards the VCE- Vocational Major program.
Work Experience
Careers is ramping up with the begging of our Year 10s to organise their Work Experience. There are still 170 forms that need to be handed in by March 31. Work Experience opportunities have been advertised on the Careers Website and SiMON so students just need to take the initiative and make the call. If you work somewhere that students can learn more about your industry from June 30 to July 4, Theresa.Lochery@nazareth.vic.edu.au would be very grateful to hear from you. “If you can see it, you can be it” and the only way to see it is through Work Experience so please support our program if you can.
Communications
Years 10 – 12 have been receiving weekly newsletters explaining Courses, Open Day opportunities, scholarships and more. Open rate has increased to 76% which is good but Ms. Lochery gets a wrinkle for every 1% that do not open it so please encourage your children to open the emails.
