The Senior Girls Cricket Team has truly set the bar high with their exceptional performance at the recent Interschool Sports. Their journey through the competition was nothing short of inspiring, demonstrating not only their skill and determination but also their unwavering team spirit.
From the very first match, it was clear that the team was in top form. With bat and ball in hand, the girls displayed a remarkable level of technique, from powerful batting strokes to controlled and strategic bowling. Their fielding was also a standout, with quick reflexes and sharp focus ensuring that no opportunity was missed. Each player brought their A-game, contributing to the collective success.
The girls came up against Grovedale College and Surfcoast Secondary to play off for a spot in the finals. With success, they then came up against Grovedale Secondary again in the final, where they won the match by 15-20 runs.
With this remarkable achievement, the Senior Girls Cricket Team has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with. Their next stop is the Western Metropolitan Region next Wednesday 12th March.
A huge thankyou to Ms Fisher and Mr McKenna for taking the girls out, coaching and supporting them throughout the day.
What a day at the Geelong Division Swimming!
The BHS swimming team has set an incredible standard with their remarkable performance at the Geelong Division Swimming. Their outstanding achievements in the competition were a true testament to their dedication, skill, and hard work in the pool. The team’s success has not only made the school proud but has also showcased the immense potential of young athletes pushing the boundaries of excellence.
What made this team truly exceptional was the balance between individual talent and collective teamwork. Several swimmers broke personal records and earned ribbons inclusive of 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective categories, but it was their ability to collaborate and support one another in relays that set them apart.
The leadership from our year 12’s was instrumental throughout the day. With calm and confident guidance, they helped maintain focus and morale, with huge amounts of support from the start to the finish line.
The BHS team secured the overall grand aggregate for the day which was a direct result of their unity, preparation and determination.
A special mention to our boys team, who dominated the competition, winning every pennant across junior, intermediate, senior and overall boys categories – a truly incredible achievement.
A huge thank you to Mr Ingamells, Ms Scannell, Mr Masters and Britt for supporting the team on the lead up and during the day.
