Road & Bike Safety Reminders 🚸🚗🚴
At Echuca East Primary School, we are committed to ensuring the safety of all students, families, and staff. Please take extra care during drop-off and pick-up times and remind your children about the importance of road and bike safety.
Parking & Drop-Off Zones
🚗 Use designated parking areas – Please avoid stopping in no-parking zones, driveways, or bus areas.
🚗 Keep clear of school crossings – Stopping too close can block visibility for students and drivers.
🚗 Be patient and follow road rules – Allow extra time to avoid rushing and unsafe manoeuvres.
Using the School Crossings
🚶♂️ Always use the designated crossings – Do not cross between parked cars or in unsafe locations.
🚶♀️ Follow the crossing supervisor’s instructions – Wait for the whistle before crossing.🚶♂️ Parents & carers – set a good example – Always use the crossings to encourage safe habits.
Bike & Scooter Safety
🚴 Wear a helmet – It is compulsory for all students riding bikes or scooters to wear a properly fitted helmet.
🚴 Ride safely – Encourage children to ride on the footpath where possible and be mindful of pedestrians.
🚴 Dismount near school grounds – Bikes and scooters should be walked through school gates to avoid accidents.
🚴 Use bike racks – All bikes and scooters should be parked in the bike racks - Barry Street entry.
🚴 Reminder: No East students to be on the Pump Track in school Uniform before or after school. Students should be supervised by an adult.
Police will be doing patrols in the area with a focus on students wearing helmets – So please wear your helmets!
Slow Down & Stay Alert
⚠️ Follow speed limits – The reduced speed zone around the school is for everyone's safety.
⚠️ Be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians – Many students ride or walk, so check your surroundings.
⚠️ Avoid distractions – Put away mobile phones and stay focused while driving near the school.
By working together, we can create a safe and supportive environment for all students. Thank you for your cooperation! If you have any concerns, please contact the school office. 🚦👏
