Update from the OLA School Advisory Council (OSAC)

OSAC held its first meeting for 2025 on Monday 3 March in the Community Hub. Over a bowl of lollies, the OSAC Members gathered and provided assistance and advice to the school by: 

• planning and providing feedback on the regular OSAC meeting schedule and structure to ensure key information is distilled and advice is provided in a timely manner
• considering and providing feedback on specific school policies, programs and events
• reviewing the principal’s report and providing advice where required
• scheduling OSAC Member’s attendance at special school events such as working bees, special persons day and the Prep 2026 Information Night
• making a commitment to be involved in the Parents and Friends meetings and sharing information from their first meeting held on 24 February 2025

The OSAC meetings provide a forum for discussion and discernment, where parent voice and community perspective inform and support the decisions made by the school.

In 2025, OSAC intends to meet 8 times: 3 March, 28 April, 2 June, 4 August, 15 September, 13 October, 17 November and 8 December and is represented by the following members: Sally Wright (Grade 6) and Lucas Ryle (Grades 2 & 4) (Co-Chairs), Pat Moran (Grade 5) (Secretary), Lauren Hel (Grade 4), Ros Sayers (Grade 1), Ella Meagher (Prep & Grade 4). OLA School is represented by Richard Jacques and Caitlan Taig and the Parish is represented by Fr Alan Fox.
