Principal's Report
Tim Furphy, Principal
It feels like yesterday that I was writing this, turns out it really was a fortnight ago!
Those at assembly would have heard me gloat about Lily T, Rubi and Quinn representing our school at the Department of Education building in the city to talk about sustainability initiatves and how schools like ours can be further supported. I can't begin to say how well the girls spoke and represented our school community. Firstly it was an honour to be asked to share and secondly then the girls presented incredibly well, we couldn't be prouder! And yes, we almost did miss the train on the way back but I'll lay the rumour to rest - this was not my fault!

Transition and 2026 classes
We've had our first two 2026 Foundation transition sessions which has been a really positive experience. Our current students will transition into their new classes on the statewide transition day on Tuesday 9th December. Speaking of our current students, I can announce the class structure for 2026 with our current enrolment numbers. After plenty of draft attempts at various class structures, this one is where we've landed.
We will remain at three classes:
2026 staffing arrangements are currently being finalised. When we're able to confirm this, I will announce it to the community.
NPS Bush Dance
This year's rotation of end of year events is our Christmas bush dance. Those that have been before will know what fun it is. Students have been and will continue to learn a couple of dances to celebrate the end of year. Put your dancing shoes on and be ready for some crowd participation, this will be held in the evening of Friday 12th December.
End of Year Reports
Staff are finalising assessment results and preparing this information for the final school report for 2025. This will be made available to families via Compass the last week of school.
That's all from me, take a look at other sections of the newsletter to see what's been happening. If you haven't already, also keep an eye out for "Newham News", a newsletter from the kids of all the goings on around our school.
