Level 1

It has been an exciting few weeks in Level One. We've been busy exploring, discovering, learning and above all, having fun!
Pyjama Day
On Monday, we had a fun and cosy day in our PJs. We played fun games and showed off our comfiest outfits!
Inquiry
For our inquiry unit on 'Natural Disasters', the Level Ones got to experiment with recreating a mini flood, by designing a landscape, creating it out of different materials and slowly adding water to see how the landscape was affected.
SES Incursion
On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to receive a visit from State Emergency Services. Everyone had some pretty big questions about how emergency services respond to floods and natural disasters. The Grade Ones were given some awesome resources and activities to take home from the friendly volunteers!
Literacy
In Reading and Writing this week, Level One has continued to explore persuasive writing features, learning about emotive language, hyperbole and rhetorical questions to convince the reader to agree with the author.
Numeracy
In Maths this week, we've been revisiting making and continuing patterns. We were able to solve worded problems to create repeating and growing patterns out of different materials.
