Level 4

Students had an unforgettable time at camp, trying new activities and making lasting memories! It was full of fun, laughter, and teamwork as students explored, played, and supported each other.
Literacy
In Writing, students have been working on improving their recount writing, with a focus on using paragraphs effectively, sentence fluency, and precise word choice.
In Reading students have continued to explore themes in our class novel 'Hatchet.' They continue to apply their comprehension skills to their BookClub novels such as analysing characters, identifying key themes, and making connections to their own experiences. They are also predicting outcomes, and discussing the author’s use of language and literary techniques to deepen their understanding and enjoyment of the texts.
Maths
Students have been learning about the order of operations, exploring how to solve mathematical expressions by following the correct sequence of calculations. They have been practising using parentheses, brackets, and exponents, and applying rules for multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.
Inquiry
Students have been investigating how earthquakes and volcanoes cause changes in the landscape. They have explored the processes of tectonic movement, lava flow, and seismic activity, observing how these natural forces shape landforms over time. Through modelling and experimentation, students are developing a deeper understanding of the impact of these events on the environment and human communities.
