Year 12 Exhibition
On Friday Week 3, our talented Art, Design, and Tech Year 12 students unveiled their incredible projects to family and friends. Each Year 12 piece was so unique, showcasing the creativity, passion, and skill that make every student's talents shine.
This year’s exhibition in our brand-new art studio was the perfect opportunity to celebrate their hard work and talent under a fantastic lighting setup and to welcome families into our beautiful new space.
We are very proud of our students and their talents.
Once Upon a Festival
On Friday, 31 October, a group of students from Years 7, 9, and 10 attended the Once Upon a Festival at Immanuel College. This event is always a highlight of the year. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant festival atmosphere, meeting a range of authors, hearing about their creative processes, taking part in writing workshops, and even trying their hand at designing their own manga characters and comic strips.
Here are some of their highlights:
Some highlights for me were meeting Katrina Nannestad, attending her workshop, and getting her to sign my book, " The Silver Linings." All the workshops were really fun and I really enjoyed it. - Suzannah
The festival was a wonderful experience filled with highlights. The live music created a great atmosphere, and the students who performed did an excellent job. The authors were all so friendly and took the time to chat with us and sign our books. The advice they shared was genuinely useful, not just for aspiring writers but for anyone interested in creativity and storytelling. The workshops were engaging and far from boring. The authors and illustrators who ran them were warm and enthusiastic, and the comic-making session was enjoyable and gave us a real appreciation for how much work goes into creating just one comic strip! The food and overall atmosphere added to the day’s enjoyment, with people of all ages, from Reception to Year 10, connecting, laughing, and simply having a great time together. - Rachel
Special thanks to the team at Immanuel College for organising such a brilliant event.

Year 9 Old Adelaide Gaol excursion
In Week 4, the Year 9s visited the Old Adelaide Gaol to learn about its history and how the justice system has evolved over time in South Australia.
As part of their Civics and Citizenship unit, students are exploring the Australian Judicial system and its design to make sure everyone is treated equally under the law. While visiting the Old Adelaide Gaol, however, students had the opportunity to discuss how such a system did not always guarantee equality in the past.
Students were particularly interested in gathering information about Elizabeth Woolcock, an old prisoner, in order to complete their next assignment on the alleged unfair proceedings of her 1873 trial.

Year 8 El Shaddai Camp
Our Year 8 students recently returned from a two-night, action-packed camp at El Shaddai. Throughout the camp, students participated in various activities, including canoeing, rock climbing, the giant swing, archery, laser tag, and a nighttime walk.
The program encouraged everyone to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves and face their fears. There was also time for a fiercely contested Coco Pops eating competition.
Students returned with new friendships, stronger teamwork skills and memories that will last well beyond Year 8.
