This is a very special time for our little students to celebrate their growing and fun times at Emmaus Early Learning Centre.Â

Welcoming our 2026 ELC Familiesđ
The Emmaus Early Learning Centre is abuzz with excitement and anticipation as Term Four draws to a close. A beautiful illustration of this season of transition is our Orientation process for children and families joining the Emmaus ELC community in 2026.
Â
Orientation visits commenced this week, with the first group of children and families warmly welcomed into our learning community. Over the coming weeks, three more groups will visit the Centre, allowing a total of 58 new children and their families to explore our learning environments, meet our educators, and begin forming those important first connections within Emmaus.Â
Â
These Orientation visits are a vital part of each childâs transition into the ELC. They foster a sense of belonging, trust, and confidence, ultimately providing a solid foundation that is essential for every childâs future learning and wellbeing. As outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), these early experiences are where âchildren feel safe, secure and supportedâ (Outcome 1). Through warm, responsive interactions and thoughtfully prepared environments, we strive to foster a sense of belonging and create spaces that inspire curiosity, joy, and discovery.
It is a blessing to witness children approach these first experiences with both wonder and courage, often holding a parentâs hand tightly at first, and then, little by little, letting go to explore and engage. In these tender moments, we are reminded of the wisdom in Proverbs 22:6: âStart children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.â (NIV)
Â
As we welcome our new families, we look forward to walking alongside each child as they begin their learning journey with us. Please keep these children and their families in your prayers as they prepare to join our community and begin this exciting new chapter in the year ahead.
