Principal's News

Thanks and Acknowledgements
A huge thank you to all of our dedicated staff and parents who have supported camps and excursions throughout the year. With child safety as our highest priority, these events simply could not run without the commitment of our parent volunteers. On Thursday night, I visited the Year 3 camp at Coragulac and was delighted to see three of our dads — Jake O’Dwyer, Jason Cartwright, and David Williams — running around like 21-year-olds, playing a spirited game of footy on the St Brendan’s oval. These are the moments children remember for years to come. Well done, and thank you.
Planning for 2026
Although we still have around four weeks remaining in the school year, preparations for 2026 are already well underway. Advertising for two classroom teaching positions closes this Friday, and we will share confirmed staffing information with families in the coming weeks.
We would like to inform our community that Mr Tom Rieniets has accepted a teaching position for 2026 at St Patrick's in Geelong West, and Mrs Lynne Garner will be continuing with extended leave into the new year. Mrs Meredith Ryan, a valued and dedicated teacher at Sacred Heart for many years, has announced her retirement and we wish her all the best for her future.
We thank each of them for their contribution to Sacred Heart and will acknowledge them formally later in the term.
Our teachers are currently working thoughtfully and collaboratively to create class groupings for next year. All children are surveyed about who they would like to be in a class with, and we ensure that every student is placed with at least one of their top three choices. At the same time, there are occasions where a healthy break between students is beneficial for everyone involved.
