Alumni Reunions
On Sunday 27th October, we were delighted to welcome back past students from the Classes of 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 for their milestone reunions. The day was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and heartfelt reconnections as old friends shared memories and stories from their school days.
Guests enjoyed tours of the College, marvelling at how much has changed, and how much still feels wonderfully familiar. It was a beautiful reminder of the strong sense of community that continues to bind our alumni together across the decades.
We thank all who attended for making the day so special and look forward to seeing even more familiar faces at next year’s reunions!
Yr 9 Camp - Marysville
The Yr 9 students had a wonderful time at camp. While the weather in Melbourne was horrid, Marysville was lovely. Despite some wind and rain on the first day, nothing dampened our spirits. Staff were so impressed with the positive way our students participated in all activities, constantly challenging themselves to try new things and push themselves outside of their comfort zone. The camaraderie and support they showed was truly heartwarming and they should be very proud of their achievements.
Students completed a high ropes course, canoeing, bushwalking, campout cooking, pizza making, initiative games, bush skills and even a mini olympics- laughing with their friends and making memories that will last a lifetime. We are so grateful to the staff and students who made this such a fantastic experience.

Let's hear from our fabulous Yr 9 Students:
“It was so fun being with new people and making new friends. The canoeing was extra fun because we got to splash people.” - Chloe K.
“My favourite memory from camp was definitely building the tarp city in the rain and wind, and when it kept collapsing, we worked together to come up with a solution and build the perfect tarp shelter to make Mexican burritos under”- Savannah P.
“My favourite memory from camp is when we got to make our own pizzas using a real pizza oven and herbs from the camp's garden. It was fun working in teams and exploring their garden, as well as eating them once they were finished”.- Olivia N.
“My favourite experience at camp was playing gaga ball with my friends, any chance we could. This was a newly introduced game to me, and I loved playing every minute of it because it was fun, competitive, and engaging”.- Skye S.
“my favourite thing from camp was the night times and making the pizza's with fresh herbs” - Mikayla J.
“I enjoyed canoeing”- Tiffany L.
“My favourite memory was probably gaga ball at night with Mr McPhail and all my friends” - Annabella T.
"I liked creating bonds with people. The bushwalk was my favourite because everyone shared stories of themselves as we walked along."- Stephanie N.
Speech Pathologist - New to Killester!
We are welcoming two Speech Pathologists from Now We're Talking Speech Pathology Services to Killester on Thursdays to work with our students and their families. They currently provide services to schools in our area and we are looking forward to having their expertise at our school.
Director and Speech Pathologist, Lauren, along with a second Speech Pathologist - Semin, will be offering free language screenings for students who have been identified by the school, or where parents have contacted Learning Diversity to request an appointment. Following the screening results, parents will be contacted directly by the Speech Pathologist regarding any further recommendations. This may include comprehensive assessments and detailed reports in the areas of speech, language, literacy, and social communication (pragmatics) to support diagnosis, funding applications, or VCAA accommodations.
Furthermore, therapy sessions are available for families seeking support, focusing on a range of areas including speech sounds (articulation), language development (sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary), literacy skills (phonics, reading, and spelling), social communication, and academic support (paragraph and essay writing). Families are able to use their NDIS funding, private health insurance or Medicare rebates (witha GP referral) to help cover the cost of sessions. To find out more information about the services, or if you think your daughter may benefit from an assessment or therapy, please contact Melanie Weinberg - Head of Learning Intervention Strategies at mweinberg@killester.vic.edu.au or (03) 9547 5000.

Cupcakes for a Cause: Supporting Greenfleet’s Koala Habitat Project
On Friday 7th October, the Killester community came together for a cupcake sale with a purpose — raising funds for Greenfleet, an organisation dedicated to restoring native forests and protecting Australia’s wildlife.
Through everyone’s generosity and love of cupcakes, we raised $373 to help plant trees and rebuild vital koala habitats. Greenfleet has been creating legally protected forests for over 25 years, and in 2024 alone, their projects restored 460 hectares of new koala habitat that will remain protected well into the next century.
Every cupcake purchased helps a tree take root — growing into a safe home for koalas and other threatened species for generations to come.
A huge thank you to The Green Team, as well as Mrs Collins, Ms Molony, and Ms McKail, for organising today’s event, and to everyone who bought and donated. Together, we have made a real difference for our planet and its precious wildlife!
