PBL

At SFS, our PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning) school wide expectations are:

Respect,

Responsibility and

Kindness

This week in PBL we focused on RESPECT, Use Good manners. This was in the lead up to Thursday’s Twilight market. The children practiced using conversational phrases that they might need to use at the Twilight market when communicating with customers at the Twilight market or when talking to other market stall holders.

World Kindness Day

We will celebrate World kindness day at SFS next Thursday 13th November. The students are encouraged to wear a touch of purple. This can be a hair tie, bandanna, socks, cap etc.

The day's purpose is to encourage people to perform acts of kindness, both big and small, to build a more compassionate and connected world.

The children will focus on Kindness during their Week 6 PBL social skills lesson. Try to spread some kindness at home and in your own community. You might like to play this kindness bingo game at home with the family to spread some more kindness around.

Twilight Market

A big thank you to all the SFS families and extended community for coming along to the Twilight Market. Well done to our students who worked hard on the stalls. A fantastic evening was had by all.

Multicultural Celebration Morning

We will be celebrating our diverse cultural backgrounds at school on Wednesday November 26th at SFS. We will have a special assembly in the hall at 9am lead by the Specialist team with performances from students celebrating different cultural backgrounds. If any parents and siblings would like to perform a song, dance, play an instrument or other cultural piece with their children, please contact me rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au

We would love to start with a procession of flags, if you have a flag on a flag pole from your cultural background, please drop it off at the school office before this day so we can include this in the celebration.

The students are invited to wear clothes to represent their cultural background and we invite families attending to also dress in cultural clothes and bring along a plate of food from your cultural background to share with the other parents and family members attending. After the assembly, you will be invited into the learning spaces with your children to participate in a fun cultural activity then return back to the hall for Morning tea (not with the students) at 11am.
