Year 1/2 Excursion - Our Local Landmarks

Our excursion was fun. First, we went to the library. We got to go out the back and have a look after she gave us a tour. It was cool. Pheobe read a book for us. She gave us a pencil each. Second, we went to the Art Gallery. We saw some heads. They were not real. Clare gave us a sheet of paper for a scavenger hunt. It was very fun. Third, we went downstairs to the room called Create and Make workshop. We had to make a flag for a made-up country. It was so so so fun. We walked to the Bluff and had some pizza. After pizza we had a little play. My favourite part was the library.

Year 4 Port Arthur Camp

Last week, our Year 4 students travelled to Port Arthur for a 3-day trip. For some, this was their first big trip away from home, and all our students were very brave, had a wonderful time and had a lot of fun.

Here are some student reflections about their time away:

My favourite part about Wednesday was going to the Richmond Gaol. It was fun looking through the cells and going in the really dark cells. It was more scary going in the mens cells because the door closed all the way so it was really dark. - Frankie

I enjoyed making bricks at Port Arthur. We learnt about how the convicts used to make them. - Max B.

My favourite part was making the bricks at Port Arthur and I also loved having Coco Pops for breakfast. - Eliana C.

On Friday at camp, I competed in the Lego Masters challenge. The three teams had to build a marble run out of lego, I really enjoyed it. - Anais

Camp was good beacuse I was brave. I did Lego Masters and we had to make a marble run with two turns. My group tried so hard but it did not work. - Gracie

Last Friday, when it was our last day, it was so much fun, we got to do archery or marble runs (I did marble runs), and we came second. The aim was to get the fastest across the floor. - Lizzy

On Friday, we were at Port Arthur for a school camp. We woke up at 6:00 in the morning then we cleaned our room because it was our last day. After, we went outside and played on a giant slide until it was time for breakfast, most people had pancakes and Coco Pops for breakfast. After everyone cleaned up their table, we went to the bay room and separated into groups for archery or Lego Masters. I did archery and I nearly got a bullseye. After that, we all got on the bus. We made one stop on the way back to school in Campbelltown for Banjo's. I had a meat pie, then we got back on the road. - Eva S.
