Foundation

Our Foundation students were extremely excited today to come dressed up as their favourite Initial Lit character to celebrate 100 days of school.  Students participated in a variety of activities to celebrate this momentous occasion and were very excited to be able to finally count 100 days. Thank you to all of the parents who have supported their child to make this day one to remember.  

GOALS 

Thank you to all families who met with the classroom teachers to set goals for the upcoming semester. Goals were released last Friday and are available to view on PAM.  

SWIMMING 

Swimming lessons commenced last week. A reminder that lessons will continue to take place on Thursdays in Week 5, 7, 8, 9, 10.  

ATHLETICS

Our whole school athletics will take place this Thursday 6th of August. Please ensure you complete your child’s permission on PAM. Students will need to wear their sport uniform, however, can wear their house colour top if they wish. We will be catching the bus to the Flora Hill Athletics track approx. 9:00am so it is important that all children are at school on time.  

PUPIL FREE DAY 

Just a reminder that this Wednesday the 5th of August we have a pupil free day. Students are not required at school on this day; therefore, parents are required to organise alternative care for their child.

BOOK WEEK 

Our Book Week Parade & Dress-up will be held on Tuesday 25th of August. Students are invited to come dressed up as a book character on this day. The Blurbs will also be performing in the Liborius Centre at 9:30am.

Literacy 

Students are learning about: 

• The letters and sounds ‘w’, ‘ck’, ‘ll’, ‘ss’, ‘ff’ 
• Reading and writing CVC words and sentences 
• Identifying words and letters 
• Reading and writing tricky words ‘them’, ‘there’, ‘have’, ‘of’. ‘here’, ‘with’ 
• While writing, the students are learning about reports and learning to use connector words  

Mathematics 

Students are learning about: 

• Addition and subtraction - Quantities can be combined and separated to form new quantities.
