This week, our positive behaviour for learning focus is "Be Inclusive".
Students have been learning how unique appearances, personality, quirks, beliefs and interests of individuals bring something special to the world that nobody else can duplicate. This includes viewing themselves as unique and worthwhile.
Why is being inclusive important?
Safe
- Being inclusive helps everyone feel safe.
- When we include others, we create a friendly environment where everyone can express themselves without fear of being bullied or left out.
- When everyone feels safe, we can all focus on learning, playing, and having fun together!
Respectful
- Inclusion means showing respect for everyone, regardless of their differences.
- When we include others, we acknowledge their feelings, ideas, and differences.
- This shows that we value them as individuals.
- Respecting each other helps build strong friendships and a supportive community where everyone can thrive.
Engaged
- When we are inclusive, everyone gets to participate and have fun!
- Inclusion means inviting others to join games, activities, and conversations.
- When everyone is involved, it makes things more exciting and enjoyable for everyone.
- We learn new things from each other, and we can work together to solve problems and create amazing memories!
