Year 2/3 

This term, as students further develop their ICT skills, they have been tasked with writing up our 2/3 newsletter article. Here is what they have to say about what we’ve been up to in the past 3 weeks:

ANZAC Day

ANZAC DAY is a day where we remember the soldiers - Isabelle and Gus

We do a minute of silence every 25th of April to remember all the soldiers who lost their lives in war.  ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. - Sophia

The 2/3s have been thinking about the fellow Australian and New Zealand army corps.  We have talked about how they sacrificed their life to save us.  – Barry

At school we learnt all about World War 1 and we went to the ANZAC day service.  We were reading about it too.   -Lilly and Zelda

Swimming

For the past week we have been going to Kyneton Aquatic centre to complete swimming lessons.  It has been so much fun, but also really tiring and hard to get changed. - Scarlett

This week we have been doing swimming at the Kyneton Aquatic centre. On Monday the first day of swimming we did jumps and sinkers mostly because it was the first day.  On Tuesday we practised survival swim styles. - Ruby and Maddison

For swimming we have been doing cool stuff.  We have been doing survival back stroke and canon ball’s and we have been doing a survival reach - Isabelle and Gus

At swimming we have lots of fun in the pool with our friends and learn how to survive in the water. We are glad to have Callum and Aaron helping us for the week. - Willow and Charlotte

One week every year we get to do swimming lessons.  In swimming lessons, we are learning how to do some safety strokes like chicken, aeroplane, soldier.  On the last day we get a fun day.  On the fun day we sometimes wear flips or do rescues.   - Audrey

Maths

In math we are learning about money, adding and subtraction and timetables.

We have been partitioning numbers. We have been adding and subtracting. I have been getting better and better at the vertical strategy.  - Scarlett

Knowledge Building

This term we have been learning Viking way of life.   - Corey and Amelie

For topic we have been learning about Vikings, yes, they did raid and slay, but we have also learnt that Vikings traded, explored and built. We have watched several clips about them.  - Barry

In knowledge building we have been learning about Vikings and their alphabet called runes.  - Jase and Harry
