COMMERCE

This term in Commerce, Year 10 students have been learning about the economic and business environment. In this topic, they have explored the turbulent nature of the economy and the internal and external factors that influence the mechanics of the operation of the Australian Economy. As part of an assessment task, students were asked to create a board game that integrates economic concepts in a fun and engaging way. Students created various types of board games that allowed players to experience various economic scenarios that displayed the 'opportunity cost' of making decisions as consumers, producers and workers in the Australian economy. See photos of an example of one of the board games created that explored the nature of a 'consumer' in the economy and the impacts of spending and saving behaviours on the Australian economy.
