Project Compassion

Fundraising for Caritas:

Making a Difference Together At our school, we are always striving to make the world a better place, and today, we are excited to share a special initiative aimed at helping those in need. We have teamed up with Caritas, a Catholic organisation dedicated to improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our world. Did you know that right now, 292 million people in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific have to walk long distances every single day just to collect clean water? This is a huge challenge for families, especially for primary school girls, who often miss out on their education because collecting water is seen as their responsibility.

As Social Justice Leaders, we are calling on all students to help raise money to provide water tanks in villages, so people can have clean drinking water right at their doorstep. This would make a huge difference for communities and, most importantly, allow girls to attend school regularly and pursue their education without the burden of water collection. We have set up a special display in the corridor to track our progress.

Each water symbol on the display represents $2, and each tap represents $10. As we raise money, we will be able to see how close we are to reaching our goal. Your contributions, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our target and help provide clean water to those who need it most. Later in the term, we will also be hosting a Walk for Water event, where students will walk around the oval carrying water, simulating what it’s like for those who must walk long distances every day just to get clean water.

This will be an eye-opening experience, showing us just how important it is to ensure everyone has access to clean water.Together, we can make a difference. Your generosity will go a long way in empowering communities to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future for themselves, their families ,and their communities, giving them the opportunity to live with hope and dignity, and access the basics that we often take for granted. Thank you for considering giving to this very worthy cause.

Together, we can make the world abetter place!
