Sovereign Hill Camp
The Year 3’s and 4’s went to Sovereign Hill for their camp on March 6th and 7th. They stayed overnight and had a wonderful time. See below the many highlights that the Year 4’s shared.
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was the Aurora light show because it was so fun and interesting. I was very grateful for my bunk bed after we got back! I loved watching the gold show and how they melted the gold and how it glowed. (Emily)
My highlight of Sovereign Hill camp was going underground in the mine because it was pitch black in the dark for 90 seconds as we went on the tram. You couldn’t even see your hand in front of your face. We were able to see what it was like for the miners many years ago working underground. (Bronson)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was riding on the bus and talking to Leo. I loved playing Hide and Seek with Harvey. My other highlight was going into the dark mine and learning how they found the gold. (Ollie)
My favourite highlight of camp was mine tours. Firstly we got to go on a tram car that went underground. It was pitch black and you could not even see your hand in front of your face. On the second mine tour they had a voice guiding you along. It was super cool. I also loved the 3D night show especially when we all wore the 3D glasses, it made you feel like you were actually inside it. (Ezra)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was when we went to the bowling alley. It was fun because it was different from normal bowling and the ball did not have holes in it. I liked going into the candle and soap store. The soap smelt nice and the candles were really colourful. (Braxton)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was going underground and I got to see the gold nugget. It was called the ‘Welcome nugget’. My second highlight at Sovereign Hill was seeing the two donkeys eating the grass. The lolly shop was great and we were able to taste a raspberry lollie that had just been made. (Jackson)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was the inside/outside light show because it was really fascinating having the big screen that then opened up to the outside. It taught us all about the past which was very interesting . I loved every part of camp except when we had to walk back to our cabins on the last day and the bus ride back to school. (Greta)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was the lightshow. First of all you had to wear 3D glasses and it was about how the world was made. My friends and I were trying to catch meteors and lots of flying space objects. Second of all we got to ride on a bus that had no sides and we were outside for the second show we watched. The last one surprised us all. It started off in a theatre and then they opened the screen and it was now outside. (Ashlea)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was going to the candle store because the candle store looked pretty and smelled nice. I also loved the bowling alley because it was so much fun and was easier than modern day bowling. The camp food was yummy, especially breakfast on the second day that was so delicious. (Mei)
My highlight of Sovereign hill camp was when the man made the raspberry drops. I also saw a lady making candles, they looked smooth and long, hanging up. I loved playing on the oval with my friends next to our cabins. I loved panning for gold. The creek had lots of stones. It was fun. (Emma)
