Performing Arts Highlights!

Year Prep Community

The Prep Community have continued to develop their understanding of Music in Performing Arts. Students have been practicing to keep a steady beat using creative movement, body percussion and playing different instruments. Students have started to show basic technical skills when playing the instruments such as the maracas, drums, rhythm sticks and tambourines. They have learned to identify which instruments they can shake, tap, bang or scrape.

Year 1/2 Community

The Year 1/2 Community have been continuing to explore and express ideas in Music lessons. They have listened and identified the rhythm pattern ti-ti taa and taa taa ti-ti taa by echo clapping and stamping the beat. Students have moved to match the timing of the music and played various melodic and non-melodic instruments to show beat and rhythm. Students have reflected on their performances identifying challenges, the importance of practicing a skill to improve and moments where they felt proud and successful.
