Year 10 Careers Industry Expo

On 13th March, all the Year 10 students including our international students, attended the BGKLLEN Careers Expo at Beaumaris Secondary College. With over 50 stallholders, interactive activities, and experiences, including virtual reality goggles, the event offered students a hands-on way to explore various career paths. Our students participated actively, asking professionals from different fields a wide range of questions and taking notes on the answers they received. This not only enhanced their understanding of various industries but also provided them with practical insights into their future career possibilities.

Special Guest speakers during Y10 MFMP

Last Friday, our Year 10 international students and ILC students attended a special MFMP session which was delivered by 3 special guests: Sarah Terry (Speech Pathologist), Matthew Flemming (Senior Marketing & Communications Officer from IEPD of DET and Tara Goebel (Senior Early Childhood Educator). We thank you Doanvy Roberts, our Career Pathway Coordinator for organising such a wonderful event. The students were fascinated by the speakers' diverse experiences and career pathways.

VCD Extra School Support Session

In order to help our international students to understand art and drawing concepts, Miss Quinn Daly (Art and VCD teacher) has been running special sessions for our Year 11 students every Thursday at lunch time. The initiative has received a warm welcome from students and we thank Miss Daly for your support.

Following the last educational seminar on CONSENT, our school nurse Ms Brook Jones gave  another successful session on GAMING this Tuesday for our ILC students. The topics  covered were: Gaming, Gaming addictions, Benefits of gaming in moderation, Risks if not used in moderation, Screen time management and How gaming affects your sleep. Thank you, Ms Jones.

Term 1 Parent Teacher Interview

We are pleased to see that all our international students and their parents have booked in their parent teacher interviews with us. We thank those teachers who teach our international students, for putting in extra effort to organise written feedback for our students. We are looking forward to meeting our parents online soon through WeBex.
