Principal's Message

Ms Grace Carlo-Stella

Dear Parents and Carers,

Term one has quickly come to a close, we reflect on what has been a fantastic start to the school year. It has been a great term of learning, growth and success across all year levels. Our students have achieved in many areas and we are so proud of the progress they have made.

This week, we were pleased to welcome our Head of Primary (HoPs), Mr Jason Hanrahan, who visited all classes to observe the learning taking place. He was highly impressed with what he saw – students were engaged, focused and able to clearly articulate what they were learning and why. It was a true celebration of the teaching and learning happening in our classrooms.

Following the classroom visits, Mr Hanrahan met with the leadership team to congratulate them on the excellent work taking place across the school. He praised the consistency in practice from Kindergarten to Year 6 and commented on the outstanding quality of student bookwork.

The students have not only thrived in their academic learning but have also embraced a range of events and opportunities that support their development as well-rounded individuals. This term, students worked towards personal learning goals and participated in Learning and Thriving in ’25 meetings, setting the tone for a purposeful and goal-driven year.

Beyond the classroom, students enjoyed participating in a variety of programs and events, including:

  • Captivate for Years 4 and 5
  • Mini Roos soccer program for Stage 3
  • A focus on the character strength of fairness throughout the term
  • Our beautiful Opening Mass, where our student leaders were commissioned
  • Catholic Schools Week, which included successful Open Days
  • Harmony Day
  • NAPLAN for Years 3 and 5
  • School Choir and Dance Troupe congratulations on a wonderful term and the fabulous performances this morning.
  • Morning of Inspiration well done to the students who presented yesterday. The hard work was evident.
  • Cross Country congratulations to the students who took part and to those that progressed to the next round.
  • Diocesan Swimming Carnival well done to the students who took part.

Also, thank you to the many parents who generously give their time to support our school community. Whether it's through helping with fundraising efforts, assisting with the second-hand uniform shop or acting as grade parents – your contributions make a real difference and we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Easter raffle. We raised $8104. A fantastic effort and this will assist in purchasing resources for the STEM program that all students will benefit in using.

Congratulations to Noah D - year 2 who sole the most raffle booklets - 13; Madden J - year 5 who sole 11 books and Johnny S - year 1 and Jacob R - year 4 who sold 10 books each. These students have received gift vouchers of different values for their great effort.

Two large baskets of eggs are being donated to the 'House of Wellness' as our outreach to others and a large box of Easter eggs are being donated to the Children's Hospital for the sick children.

We are so proud of all that has been achieved in just the first term of the year. A huge thank you to the dedicated leadership team and passionate teaching staff, whose hard work and commitment make all of this possible.

We look forward to building on this success as we head into term two. The term two calendar can be found in this newsletter and on the Compass calendar.

During the Easter break, we hope you take the time to reflect on the importance of Holy Week and the Easter season, a central time in our faith where we remember Jesus’ sacrifice and celebrate His resurrection. We continue to encourage our students to live out the values of compassion, hope and renewal that Easter brings.

ANZAC Day falls in the school holidays let us remember to honour the service and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women. This is always a meaningful occasion, reminding us of the importance of courage, respect and gratitude.

We will celebrate both Easter and ANZAC day in the first week of term.

I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and blessed Easter. May the Risen Lord be with you always, bringing peace, love and hope into your hearts and homes.

Thank you for your support this term and I am looking forward to an exciting term two.

Kind Regards,

Grace
