Year Two Team News

It has been wonderful listening to the students’ impressive oral presentations over the past couple of weeks. They have been ‘above and beyond’ our expectations and we have enjoyed hearing about the different insects and animals that can be found in gardens. Thank you for supporting your child with this project. We look forward to hearing more presentations over the coming weeks.
Next week, we will begin making craft items at school to sell at the upcoming Wishing Tree Stall. More information regarding the stall will be sent home shortly. However, all funds raised will go towards purchasing toys and gifts and help bring joy to families in need of assistance.
Important news:
Please note: If your child has an allergy or requires an alternative to ice cream, please notify your child’s classroom teacher.
Curriculum Focus: Weeks 9 and 10 of Term 4
Literacy: In Reading, we will be continuing to unpack our class novel, ‘James and the Giant Peach’ and looking at different comprehension strategies. In Writing, we will be exploring poetry.
Numeracy: We will be working on fractions of a number and revising our knowledge of money ahead of the Wishing Tree Stall.
Inquiry: We will be revising our learning from our excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens by evaluating different creatures and how they are suited to certain habitats, as well as further unpacking the lifecycle of different creatures.
Willy Kids: Through the pillar of responsibility, we will be learning about being ambitious and the different ways that we can do this at school.
Until next time,
The Grade Two Team - Steph Keswick (2K), Joel Kitchen (2J) & Rochelle White (2W)
