2026 Student Leadership

Our Grade 5 students have been working tirelessly throughout the term in preparation for the 2026 student leadership opportunities. Roles include School Captains, House Captains, Library Leaders, Digital Technology Leaders, Performing Arts Leaders, Visual Arts Leaders, Junior School Council representatives, and various Club Leaders.
Over the past two weeks, students have stepped into the spotlight; rehearsing, refining, and preparing their leadership speeches to present to their peers.
Key Dates
- School Captain Speeches: Monday 1st December, presented to students in Grades 2–5
House Captain Speeches: Wednesday 10th December, presented to their respective houses
Our process mirrors previous years, with a preferential voting system followed by an official shortlisting and interview with the Principal and Assistant Principal. This ensures every candidate is given a fair and meaningful opportunity to put themselves forward for these important roles. Positions we value highly at Golden Square Primary School.
The Golden Square community wishes all candidates the very best. No matter the outcome, each student has already shown leadership by upholding our school values daily.
Successful School Captains and House Captains will be notified and formally presented at our end-of-year Awards Ceremony. Dates for all other leadership announcements will be shared with families via the school newsletter, with some roles finalised in early Term 1, 2026.
Regards,
Nathan
