Human Powered Vehicles – Energy Breakthrough Success!

Last week our Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) team travelled to Maryborough to take part in the annual Energy Breakthrough event, and what an incredible experience it was! Our 18 dedicated students did an outstanding job representing our school. They confidently presented to judges about our HPV program, the design and purpose of our vehicles, and the skills they have developed throughout the year.

The highlight of the event was the race, where students worked in teams to ride for an impressive 16 hours. Their determination, teamwork, and resilience shone through as they pushed themselves to achieve personal and team goals. We are extremely proud of the way they supported one another and demonstrated outstanding resilience across the entire event.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing parents and families for their support - whether it is getting the trikes ready, helping with set-up, cooking food, assisting in the pits, or cheering from the side lines. This event simply wouldn’t be possible without your time, encouragement, and energy.

Congratulations to all 18 students who participated. You represented our school with pride, positivity, and perseverance. Ghost came 28th out of 100 vehicles and Pacman ended up in 71st for the race, however with excellent presentations, our teams ended up coming 16th and 57th overall. We look forward to building on this success as we continue to grow our HPV program in the years ahead!
