Advent
As a Catholic faith learning community, we come together to reflect
and give thanks. We reflect on how we can prepare our hearts
and homes for Christ’s birth in our world today. Advent is a time of waiting.
This Sunday we begin the season of Advent.
As we enter the season of Advent, we pray for God’s blessing
and guidance as we work towards a future of HOPE PEACE JOY and LOVE.

As we approach the joyous season of Christmas, we are reminded of the spirit of giving, compassion, and reaching out to those who need it most. Christmas is a time when we reflect on the blessings in our own lives and consider how we can make a difference in the lives of others.
Each year, our school proudly supports the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. This appeal plays a vital role in providing essential items, food hampers and meaningful gifts to individuals and families who are experiencing hardship during the festive season. For many, these acts of kindness bring hope, dignity and a sense of comfort at a time that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
As a Catholic faith community, we invite you to join us in living out the Gospel message of love and service. Your generosity - whether large or small - can help brighten Christmas for families in our local area. This year, we are kindly asking for monetary donations from our families, enabling St Vincent de Paul to provide what is most needed for those they support.
A donation box will be available at our Carols Night on Thursday, the 11th of December. Donations can also be made at the school office at any time leading up to the event.
Thank you for your continued kindness and for helping us bring the true spirit of Christmas to those in need. Your support makes a real and lasting difference.
As we enter into the season of Advent, we begin preparing our children for this significant and hope-filled time of the year. Advent invites us to slow down, reflect, and open our hearts for the coming of Jesus. It’s a special time in the church year when we prepare and get ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. This year, our focus is on Matthew’s Gospel, which highlights themes of joy, hope, and God’s promise fulfilled in Jesus.
As a school community the children will explore Matthew’s Gospel, taking time to unpack the scripture stories and symbols that help us understand the true meaning of Christmas. Through prayer, discussion, and classroom activities, they will develop a deeper appreciation of the birth of Jesus and how this event continues to shape our lives today. Our Advent journey will encourage the children to recognise God’s presence among us and inspire them to bring love, peace, and kindness into the world as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.
On Friday the 5th of December at 6.00pm, we will gather as a school community to farewell our Year 6 students. This special occasion is a time to reflect on their journey, celebrate their achievements, and give thanks for the many ways they have grown during their years at St Fidelis. As they prepare to venture into secondary school, we pray that they carry with them the values, friendships, and memories formed throughout their time here. We warmly invite all parents, carers, grandparents, and family members to join us for this meaningful event as we honour and support our Year 6 students in this important milestone.
This year, our whole school End of Year Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 12th of December at 9.15am. We warmly invite all parents, carers and grandparents to join us for this special celebration of faith and community. As we gather together, we will take the time to reflect on the many blessings, achievements and moments of growth we have shared throughout the year. It is a wonderful opportunity to come together in gratitude, to pray as a community, and to farewell 2025 with hope and joy. We look forward to celebrating this meaningful occasion with you.
Thank you and God Bless
