From the Principal

Dear families,
Welcome to the start of Autumn where the weather changes day to day. This is a good chance to check that names are in jumpers and tracksuit bottoms. We are already collecting lost property items in the office. Please send your children up if they cannot find something.
Recess and lunch eating time flip trial for K-6 - We are going to trial a flip of focused eating time at recess and lunch in the primary space. Crunch and Sip "Fruit Break' will be occurring around 10am each day and students will be going out to play at the same time. They will have access to their food as normal, but the focused eating time will happen at the end of the break. We have noticed that there are quite a number of students who are 'hungry/thirsty' as they head into class as the early eating time seems to be getting in the way of play.
Sentral notes have made a big difference to us making sure that permissions are given. If you cannot access Sentral, please contact the office for support.
We had students and staff from the six RAP schools at school last Tuesday and again, our P&C did an amazing job at providing the food for the day. Thank you on behalf of all the schools involved.
Mr Benn Wright, our Director, Educational Leadership was at the school for the day, and he took the chance to visit classes and meet with everyone. One of the things he was extremely impressed with was the K-6 Play Is the Way Program and the growth he has seen in students since his past visits. He is also working closely with me to work on our staffing needs.
On the note of staffing, after many years at ACS as a temporary teacher, we can proudly say that Mrs Fiona Minchin has been appointed in a permanent capacity. This is great news for her and especially great for our school community.
