A Message from our Child Safety Officers
As a school community, we are committed to fostering an environment where our students feel safe, valued, and empowered to share their thoughts and concerns. We are excited to share with you a new initiative aimed at enhancing child safety and communication within our school community!
The Feedback Box
This is a new avenue for students to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns with us. There will be two Feedback Boxes located at the Ulverstone Campus; one in the high school Wellbeing Space, and the other in the primary school at the Head of Primary Office.
The Feedback Box at the Burnie Campus will be allocated near Mrs Polden’s office. These locked Feedback Boxes serve as a safe way for students to communicate directly with our school staff. Whether it’s a suggestion for improving the school in some way, a concern, or an idea for a fun school event, we want to hear from our students. By providing a designated space for feedback, we hope to empower our students to take an active role in shaping their educational experience.
Rest assured, all submissions will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and each message will be carefully reviewed by relevant staff. We believe that every voice matters, and by listening to our students, we can create a school environment that truly reflects their needs and aspirations.
We encourage open communication between students, parents and staff regarding safety concerns. Our doors are always open, and we welcome any feedback or suggestions that may contribute to the betterment of our school.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children.
God bless,
Cassie Miles

Combined Campus Primary Cross Country
What a day it was at our combined campus primary cross country. The weather was perfect and the students were pumped to compete against their peers. Thanks to all of our amazing staff and student sports leaders for creating such a memorable event.
Inter-Primary Cross Country
Recently, we had students in Years 3-6 participate in the NWPSSA Inter-Primary Cross Country. There were over 30 schools that were involved in the day, and our Upper-Primary students from both Burnie and Ulverstone campus had the opportunity to compete against the best in our region.
The weather was amazing and all of our runners did their very best. We are so proud of our students and how they represented Leighland so well!
A special thank you to our incredible Year 10 house captains who came along to help out. These students were involved in timing, marshalling and scoring of events.
Taster Day
Taster Day 2024 happened and it was great! Year 6 students from LCS and surrounding schools got the opportunity to experience what high school is like on our Ulverstone Campus.
Doing high school differently is what we are about and students jumped at the chance to join in, start their design thinking process, and “taste and see that LCS is good”.
If your child missed it but you want to know what design thinking is all about, please connect with us and we will provide you with your very own VIP campus tour.
JOIN OUR PRAYER GROUP
As a school, we like to pray for both our school and the wider community.
You are invited to join with others in our community in prayer, each Friday morning at 9.00am. Please sign in at Reception.
You don't want to miss this!

Kinder 2025
Enrolments for Kinder 2025 are open! Thank you to those families who have already expressed their interest or commenced the enrolment process. We ask that any current families who have little ones for Kindy next year, to please reach out as siblings are not automatically enrolled, and enrolment forms are required to be completed for every child. This will secure your child’s spot and greatly assist our Principals to establish vacancies for new families.
Please contact:
