5/6L

Welcome back to 5/6L!

We are gearing up for another busy month to finish Term 2. Have a look at the learning we have done so far!

Resilience Project:

We have been looking at the difference between positive thinking and negative thinking. We made connections to camp and found that when we change our perspective we become more grateful for what we have.

Literacy:

Our topic for Literacy is all about government and democracy. To recap our learning, we made models of the three levels of Government in Australia. We also noted the different roles and responsibilities that each level has. We have also done lots of activities throughout the term to consolidate our knowledge.

Public Speaking:

Here are some award winners from our Public Speaking Program so far. These are voted by the class for cateogries such as: "Best Prepared Speech", "Best Off-the-Cuff Speech", "Best Evaluator Award" and "Special Award".

Maths:

For Patterns and Algebra we have enjoyed working with partners to work through number problems related to BIDMAS.

Religion - Saints/Heroes Project:

We have started researching a chosen hero (Grade 5) or saint (Grade 6) in preparation for sacrament. In Week 11, we will present our findings to the class and put all of the skills from the public speaking program into practice.
