Semester reports available 28th June

by Ms. Amy Longden, Leading Teacher: Curriculum

Parents and students will soon be able to access their Semester reports, released on the final day of term. In response to parent and student feedback, as well as consultation with teachers, our reports have been updated to provide parents more key information about student achievement in an easy-to-read format.

Reports will still include Victorian Curriculum levels, which measure student achievement against the expected state standard, as well as Box Hill’s Learner Behaviours, as you will have seen on Interim reports at the end of Term 1.

Semester reports will also now feature word grades for each Common Assessment Task, using Box Hill High School’s Academic Achievement scale. This will give parents and students a clearer understanding of their performance in assessment. VCE reports will still provide Satisfactory / Not Satisfactory grades for each Area of Study but now feature additional grading to outline students’ level of achievement.

How to access and download your reports:

1. Login to the Box Hill High School Compass Portal.

2. Select the View Academic Reports option below your student’s name. This should redirect you to a page showing all interim and semester reports available.

3. Select the name of the report (e.g. 2024 – Semester 1 End of Semester). The download should then begin automatically. Once finished you can save or print the report for future reference.

While reports are a helpful snapshot of achievement across the Semester, detailed feedback in the form of comments, rubrics and percentage scales is still accessed via Learning Tasks in Compass. We thank all of our Box Hill High community for their input into this process and wish everyone a happy end of term!
