Year 9 History - The Box

Ms. Lucy Maxwell organised and coordinated the delivery of a trunk full of genuine primary source artefacts from World War One, which students examined to better get an understanding of what life was like for the brave soldiers and other military personnel such as nurses on the war front.

These historical primary sources help student researchers identify patterns that might otherwise be difficult to discern based on present events alone. Primary source artefacts provide a critical perspective that can support students in interpreting how past events have contributed to our current world.

Primary sources provide additional context and encourage students to think critically about significant events and help bring topics to life, enabling students to deepen their understanding and uncover new perspectives through interactive learnings.
