Grade 3 Students Explore Matilda in Depth
Our Grade 3 students have completed an exciting journey through Roald Dahl's classic novel Matilda! The novel study allowed students to delve deeply into the captivating story of a young girl whose intelligence and bravery empower her to overcome challenges and stand up for what’s right.
Throughout the study, students engaged in a variety of activities to strengthen their understanding of the story's characters, themes, and messages. They explored literary elements such as character development, plot structure, and the use of descriptive language.
To cap off the unit, students had the opportunity to watch Matilda: The Musical Movie. This delightful adaptation brought the story to life through music, colorful visuals, and dynamic performances. Following the screening, students participated in a lively discussion comparing and contrasting the novel and the movie.
It has been wonderful to see students so engaged in literature and the arts. Their enthusiasm for learning is inspiring, and they have developed valuable skills in reading comprehension, analysis, and expression. Bravo to our Grade 3 learners for their hard work and thoughtful contributions throughout this novel study!
Parents, we encourage you to ask your child about their favorite moments from the book and the movie and to share their insights on the similarities and differences they discovered.
