Last newsletter of 2024

As my first term at Chatswood Public School comes to a close, I want to express my sincere thanks to our wonderful community of students, staff, and families for the warm welcome and support. It has been a privilege to witness the dedication, kindness, and sense of pride that make this school such a special place to learn and grow. Together, we have achieved so much in a short time, and I am incredibly excited for what 2025 will bring. From new learning opportunities to fresh initiatives, there is much to look forward to in 2025. Wishing all our families a happy, safe, and restful holiday break. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.

Farewell and welcome

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to acknowledge and thank Mr Cunningham, Mr Leggett, Ms Qiao, Ms Singer, Ms Michael and Ms Symons who will be leaving Chatswood Public School. We wish them every success in their next endeavours.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome back existing staff members who have been on leave in 2024 to our Chatswood Public School community in 2025. We also welcome Ms James, Ms Sood, Ms Lee and the fresh perspectives, skills, and energy they will bring to our school. We would also like to welcome back Ms Hassall and Ms Primrose.

Year 6

As our Year 6 students prepare to embark on the next chapter of their educational journey, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate their time at Chatswood Public School. In their final week, students will take part in several special events, including the Year 6 Farewell and Graduation Ceremony – all opportunities to reflect on their achievements, create lasting memories, and say goodbye to their primary school years. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and wish them all the best as they move forward into this exciting new phase of their education.

ECA Assembly

Our Extracurricular Achievement (ECA) Assembly was a fantastic celebration of the diverse talents, skills, and dedication of our students. From sporting triumphs to creative arts, music, and languages, it was inspiring to see the breadth of opportunities our students have embraced this year. We are incredibly proud of all our students who have participated in extracurricular activities and commend them for their commitment and excellence.

Celebrations of Learning

Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Celebrations of Learning. It was wonderful to see so many families engaging with their child's learning journey and sharing in their achievements. Having parents as partners in education is incredibly important, and your involvement strengthens the connection between home and school.

Reports

Semester 2 reports will be sent out via School Bytes on Monday afternoon. If you have any issues accessing your child's report, please contact the school office and they will be happy to help you out.

Thank You Morning Tea

A school is much more than just learning programs, classrooms, students, and teachers; it is a community. We could not have achieved all that we have this year without the incredible support of our parents and the wider community.

This week, we held our Thank You Morning Tea to celebrate and recognise everyone who has contributed to Chatswood PS in 2024.

They include:

  • Our entire parent community, who have supported our teaching and learning programs.
  • Our SRE and SEE teachers, who volunteer their time every week.
  • Our Class Parents, who facilitate communication and address questions.
  • Our volunteers in the canteen and the classroom.
  • The P&C, who contribute an extensive range of services to our school.

Thank you all for your invaluable support!

A special thank you to Joe Grundy, our departing P&C President:

As Joe steps down from his role as P&C President, we want to take a moment to express our appreciation for his outstanding leadership and dedication.

Joe, your commitment to our school community has been invaluable. Your countless hours of service and unwavering support have helped create a thriving environment for our students and families. From organising events to advocating for our school’s needs, your contributions have truly made a difference.

While we will miss you in the role of President, we’re glad that you will continue to be a part of the P&C as our Secretary. Your ongoing involvement ensures that your positive impact will continue to be felt.

Thank you once again for everything you’ve done, Joe!
